UVic Ocean Physics We published a paper on flow separation and cross-shelf exchange in the Juan de Fuca Eddy region: Separation of an Upwelling Current Bounding the Juan de Fuca Eddy. Intensive observations of the region using the Moving Vessel Profiler revealed a clear subsurface signature of separation of the shelf current, driving an exchange of coastal water with offshore water.
